TGT20 Conference

TGT20  TGT20

The 20th (International) Workshop on Topological Graph Theory in Yokohama, TGT20 for short, was held November 24—28, 2008 at Yokohama National University. It was organized by Seiya Negami and Atsuhiro Nakamoto.

See the links above to my presentation, “Generalized Polyhedral Suspensions”, that I delivered in Yokohama on November 27, 2008.

A toroidal polyhedral suspension was discovered in 1983. It was one of the results of my research paper, “All irreducible triangulations of the torus are realizable in E3 as polyhedra.” (Faculty Adviser: Professor I. Kh. Sabitov). It won the Second Prize in the “1983 Student Research Paper Competition” conducted annually by the Dept. of Math. & Mech., Moscow State Univ. Later on, that work became my Master's Thesis at Moscow State defended in 1984. Some of the results of that work can be found here: Polyhedral Tori

In my talk the concept of a polyhedral suspension was generalized from the torus case to the case of a surface of arbitrary genus.
